Hold the Green's Beta Is Officially Open

Hey golfers. We've got something to share: Hold the Green's beta is officially open, and we want you in it.

If you've ever run a league, you already know the real job isn't the golf. It's the nine months after opening night, the pairings, the scorecards, the "wait, whose handicap is that," the group text nobody reads. Every golf app out there will help you post a score. We built Hold the Green to actually run the league, week after week, from opening tee time to the trophy at the end of the year.

Join the beta → Everyone accepted gets a free lifetime White Tees membership, and a limited number of beta testers will also land a 1-year Black Tees upgrade, on us.

Built for the whole season, not just one round

Most golf apps are built around a single round. You finish 18, you post a score, you're done. That's fine if all you want is a handicap tracker. It falls apart the second you're the one responsible for 20, 60, or 120 people showing up to the same course on the same night, week after week, for months.

Hold the Green is built the other way around. Pairings that rotate automatically. Scorecards with the handicap strokes already marked. A leaderboard that updates live while groups are still on the course. Standings and handicaps that recalculate themselves the moment a round closes. Subs, withdrawals, and rainouts handled without you rebuilding a spreadsheet. It's the difference between an app that logs a round and one that runs a season.

Simple to set up. Absurdly deep once you're in it.

Setting up an event takes a few minutes: name it, pick the course and tees, set the schedule, choose a format. That's it, you're live. But behind that simple flow is more depth than any other league app out there. Every format, every scoring option, every team rule, every season setting combines into over 20,000 distinct ways to set up a single league, before you even touch the free-form stuff like handicap allowances or a custom points table. Whatever your group's weird house rule is, there's a real chance it's already just a setting.

Tournament builder format and scoring step showing Stroke Play, Stableford, Match Play, Skins, and Ryder Cup options

That includes formats most apps don't even attempt. Stroke play and Stableford (with a Modified table for the eagle-hunters), individual or team, net or gross. Match Play with Nassau built in. Skins, with carryovers. A Blind Draw mode for indoor leagues where nobody knows their partner until the round closes. And a genuinely specialized Ryder Cup format, purpose-built for club-versus-club team golf: two sides, Fourball, Alternate Shot, and Singles matches mixed however you want per round (a 6/6/6 day is one tap away), captains managing their own side's pairings, and standings that track the real two-side match-point race instead of forcing a normal leaderboard onto something that was never a leaderboard to begin with.

Actually built for the weekly grind

This is the part we're proudest of, because it's the part almost nobody else builds for. Score entry that bends to how your group actually plays, full card, hole-by-hole, or just a total. A leaderboard that updates live for everyone watching, with the right columns for your format automatically. Standings and handicaps that stay current on their own. A notification inbox so people actually know what's happening without you texting 20 people every week. Real answers for a rained-out Tuesday: skip the week, slide the whole schedule, or run a position week that re-pairs by current standings.

Free to watch, easy to share

You don't need an account to follow along. A public leaderboard link, shareable with a QR code, lets anyone, family, spectators, the rest of your club, watch a round live with no login at all. Groups without an app can still keep score with a guest scorekeeper code, no signup required. It's built to be shared, not locked behind a wall.

Get in early

Beta acceptance isn't automatic, spots are limited while we scale up, but every golfer who signs up and gets in keeps a free lifetime White Tees membership, and a lucky handful get bumped all the way to a 1-year Black Tees upgrade. Whether you're running a Monday night 9-hole league, a serious club championship, or you're just the one guy who always ends up in charge of the group chat, this is for you.

Sign up for the beta → We'll email you the second you're in.

See you out there.
